Why this platform

One home for the project's most important tangible output

Roots & Routes brings cultural heritage, digital storytelling and sustainable tourism together in a single open resource. It stays online and free after the project ends — a permanent tool for youth, educators, local authorities and the tourism sector.

PRIORITY · YOUTH

Active citizenship & entrepreneurship

Young people become cultural-heritage ambassadors and develop sustainable-tourism initiatives in their own communities.

PRIORITY · HORIZONTAL

Common values & participation

Heritage is protected as a shared European value, with youth taking an active, visible role.

PRIORITY · YOUTH

Quality & innovation in youth work

Open training modules give youth workers new, digital, ready-to-use methods and materials.

02 · Virtual Cultural Tours

Walk through heritage from anywhere

Drag to look around immersive scenes with informative hotspots. Designed for 360-degree imagery and augmented reality, the tours make heritage accessible to youth who cannot travel — and inspire those who can.

Drag each scene left/right to explore. Click a hotspot for information. Panoramas are illustrative and 360-degree/AR-ready for real heritage photography captured with youth.

03 · Open Training Modules

Learn to protect, tell and grow your heritage

Free, open-access modules for youth and youth workers — cultural heritage, digital storytelling & mapping, sustainable tourism, and cultural entrepreneurship. Each module lists learning outcomes, a short self-check quiz, and the Youthpass key competences it builds.

04 · Community Participation Area

Where young ideas become real projects

Share a heritage initiative, exchange ideas with peers across Europe, and publicise events. This is the space where young people move from learners to doers — and where the international network keeps growing.

    The partnership

Built by three organisations, owned by young Europeans
